Convention Center Operations Program

New This Year! The Convention Center Operations Program May 26 & May 27th!

You asked for it and we have designed it! The Convention Center Operations Program has been designed to give meeting professionals at all levels a hands-on experience in planning meetings at convention centers. This program is especially beneficial for planners whose meetings are moving from hotels to convention centers.

You will gain valuable insights even if you have been producing meetings at convention centers for years. If you are just transitioning your meeting from a hotel to a convention center, this program is a MUST attend.

The content is rich, ranging from how the bureau evaluates your convention business to partnering with the bureau and utilizing their services to make your meeting a success, to all you need to know once your meeting is booked at a convention center. You will learn about exclusive and preferred services, contracts and rental cost factors, union versus non union facilities, insurance requirements, health and safety regulations, managing your food and beverage, group freight and deliveries, loading dock and freight elevator scheduling and more! We’ll also give you a sneak peak of the set-up and staging behind the scenes of Springtime while we tour the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. And we have much more in store for you on Day 2.

By participating in the full Convention Center Operations Program (including attendance to Springtime Expo education sessions on Thursday) you can earn up to 11 CMP hours towards certification or recertification and 11 CAE hours.

Included in your $345 registration fee is:
  • A Full Day of Convention Center Operations Programming on Wednesday, May 26th
  • Entrance to Springtime Unplugged on Wednesday from 5-7pm
    and as an added bonus....
  • Attendance to a full day of Springtime activities on Thursday, May 27th
    • Starting off with a private breakfast for Convention Operations attendees to network and ask questions from the day before
    • Morning and afternoon education sessions, the brunch and general session, entrance to the Springtime Expo, a wrap up afternoon session and the closing reception.

Programming content is designed and delivered in partnership with the staff team at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center and Destination D.C. – So come learn from the experts!
